How to Set Up 2-Step Verification for UP Mail

To protect official university communications, the @up.edu.ph domain enforces Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) in compliance with Memo No. TJH 2019-07A. If you have not yet set up 2FA, you may be locked out of your account.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Access Your Account
Navigate to www.gmail.com in your web browser.

Enter your credentials: Type your full UP Mail address (username@up.edu.ph) and click Next, then enter your password.

2. Initiate Enrollment

If your account is not yet verified, a "Don't get locked out" prompt will appear.
Click the ENROLL button to begin the setup process.

3. Configure Your Phone
Enter your mobile number: Input your active mobile number in the field provided.
Select your method: Choose "Text message" to receive codes via SMS.
Click NEXT.

4. Verify Your Device
Wait for the code: Google will send a 6-digit verification code to your mobile device via SMS.
Enter the code: Type the code into the verification box on your screen.
Click NEXT.

5. Final Activation
The system will confirm that the code worked.
Click TURN ON to finalize and activate 2-Step Verification for your account.
